No which thing as 7.1 on headphones. Its a marketing gimmick.Ive been searching a review, article etc on the web for days but cant find one which specifically states the bestrecommended headphone for Quest.
I even cant find a discussion about headphone for Quest here (as far as I scrolled down the topics). I know that Quest has built in speaker but I want better experience with surround headphones. I prefer 7.1 virtual surround around 60-80. Based on all articles I read, surround sound only works for PC. Best 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones Drivers To ExperienceFrom my experience you only need 2 drivers to experience good quality sound and immersion. Test the Barber hair cut experience and you will understand. Best 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones Series Arctis 3I actually have considered Audio Technica ATH M40x or Steelseries Arctis 3. Are they good for Quest or you have other recommendation Btw pardon my English, Im from Indonesia. I use them for connecting to my amp when playing my electric guitar and dont want to disturb anyone. The cord is also detachable so you can purchase a shorter one (like I have). The only difference between the two is slightly wider frequency response and higher sensitivity on the 50X. I have the M50x, but I opted for the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap instead. Having to put headphones on after putting the headset on is too much work for me. No such thing as 7.1 in headphones. Its simulated. Cannot get 7.1 on headphones. Not real 7.1 anyway. But dont you risk invalidating your warranty doing this And doesnt it also make the headset way less portable I only use headphones when at home, when I take the headset away i like to pack into the carry case for portability and just make do with the integrated sound. As for less portable, I pack it in the box Oculus sent a replacement Rift in a few months back after an RMA because the IPD adjustment wasnt displaying on screen, or at least wasnt changing as you adjusted it. The box already had a foam cutout, so I just modified it a bit, including pieces to secure the controllers. The adapter you see is a makeshift balance adapter, adjusting the left channel down to match my weaker right ear. And the cable is going across the headset, so I can run it through the cable clip, then down my back to a battery pack. Its a 2m cable, and routing it this way reduces the excess cable by 2ft. I dont even notice the cable, or even the battery pack for that matter. ![]() Its a marketing gimmick.
